In a world characterized by ever increasing levels of noise, it is more important than ever to find the signal. This website details my search and contains the artifacts I have developed along the way. It also showcases some of my work, the result of various and ever changing interests.
Risk and opportunity exist in the future, not the past. Data can be the raw material of our past if we take the time to record things properly. And if we use our data correctly we can learn, from successes and mistakes, and establish a direction in the unintelligible universe. Without this understanding our lives are all trial and error swallowed up by chance, or if you prefer, evolution.
Recording and understanding data gives us a chance to move from natural selection to artificial selection. We can gain a small measure of control over our own fate. This power is far from complete but can be enough to improve our decisions and our lives. And the alternative is wandering around blindly in the dark, waiting for things to happen on their own, or waiting to be told what is true and what is real.
I believe it is better to learn for yourself, to take responsibility and try to understand the forces which surround us all.
